Elena Marvine Nuttall was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Clay Springs, Navajo, Ariz., to George Grant Brewer and Lydia Ellen Ellsworth. She was the sixth of nine children. Marvine passed away at her home in Safford, with her children near, on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012.

Luz Jose Holguin was born to Catalina and Francisco Holguin on Jan. 3, 1959, in Safford. He was the fifth of seven children: brothers Frank (Mario), Ignacio and Juan; and sisters Josie, Martha and Sylvia.
